There’s no shortage of social discord in the wake of Trump’s victory, and expect it to get even worse now that the official recount looks like it’s happening, and although there have been tons of fake stories circulating the internet being passed off as true by both conservatives and liberals that seem to sensationalize the divide, sometimes, there’s undeniable evidence that there are mounting racial tensions brewing in this country, and I know, we’re all getting sick and tired of hearing that a Trump supporter did this, or a crybaby liberal did that, but what happened at this Michaels in Chicago is just so insane that it can’t be made up.
Black employees at the store asked a customer to pay for a $1 reusable shopping bag and the customer immediately took this as discrimination against her, she responded with a pro-Trump diatribe/lecture, saying that African-Americans are just as guilty of being racist as whites, a lot of people’s gears, so much so that comments were disabled
Hate and violence are not acceptable in any situation, this woman needs to apologize and take responsibility for her actions, but hatred is not welcome here. PLEASE use this rage to stand up against hatred and racism.
This one woman is not the problem, the woman noticed people were recording her rant, which only emboldened her. “I don’t know what you think you’re videoing, lady.
I was just discriminated against by two black women, and you being a white woman, you’re literally thinking that that’s okay? You standing there with your baby thinking that’s okay.” I’m sure she’s been subjected to all sorts of discrimination as an attractive white female. I feel so sorry for her.
The store didn’t respond directly to requests for comments, but they did tweet that they wouldn’t tolerate any kind of discrimination. Jessie Grady, the witness who uploaded the YouTube video said that the store manager demonstrated admirable patience in the face of the 45-minute rant and even set up a GoFundMe page to give her some holiday cheer in the form of a cash reward for taking the high road. She also said that even though it couldn’t be seen in the video, people in the store defended the manager from the crazy customer.
“…the manager was so calm. Her tone never changed. You don’t see it in the video, but people were standing up. I’m happy that the community came out and showed that we care about her.” Grady Said. Grady ended up raising almost $5,000 for the Michaels store manager, who knits hats and scarves for the homeless every year.
Grady added that she wanted to do something nice for the patient store manager who put her own design business on hold in order to help support her family by taking a position with the retail chain.
