Samsung Sued in America Over Note 7 Smartphone Fires.

In the first class action consumer to be presented on the problem device, note 7 owners seek unspecified damages and an order requiring the company to repair, removal and / or replace the phone, and extend applicable warranties.

Three people who bought the smartphone, which was recalled because the Note 7 is prone to catching on fire and exploding, are prosecution the electronics maker’s US arm.

Samsung, which has left the note line 7 last week, told clients they would have to wait days or weeks for a replacement phone. Meanwhile, they are charging monthly fees for mobile carriers can not be used, according to the complaint filed against Samsung’s US division, which is headquartered in New Jersey.

Samsung did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the lawsuit. The company reduced its operating profit in the third quarter of $ 2.3 billion (£ 1.9 billion) last week after the decision to finally finish making smartphones with problems.
